Anniversary Agenda

Over the weekend of May 25 – 27, 2012, alumni of Kelvin High School are gathering to celebrate our 100th year.

Friday May 25

12:00 pm – 4:00pm – Welcome Event – Kelvin High School

  • Open house at Kelvin
  • Nostalgia rooms by decades
  • Staff Lounge for staff get togethers
  • Photography in the gym
  • Donuts, coffee, tea available
  • Merchandise available
  • Registration pick-up

7:00 pm – 9:00 pm – Evening Concert – Winnipeg Convention Centre

  • Choral concert presenting some of the best-loved choral music of John Standing, Derek Morphy and Kim Brown, the three most recent choral directors at Kelvin. It will also include musical theatre, and Gilbert & Sullivan performances sung by some of the fine soloists that have performed at Kelvin. Finally it will include a history of Kelvin told through pictures and words.

9:00 pm – close – After Concert Event – Winnipeg Convention Centre


Saturday May 26

10:00 am – 4:00 pm – Open House at Kelvin (all items without a time indicated will happen all day long).

  • 12-12:45 World War II Honour Roll Book Dedication/100th Anniversary Remembrance Service
    • 12:00 World War II Honour Roll Book Dedication and 100th Annivesary Remembrance Service
    • 12:25 Viewing of completed World War II Honour Roll Book
    • 12:25 Mr. Young’s Class – Student’s War Memorial Project Presentations
    • 12:45 “The Boys of Kelvin High: Canadians in Bomber Command” full length screening. (approx. 2 hours)
  • 12-3:00 Food & Refreshments available – Sponsored by Kelekis Restaurant
  • 1:00-4:00 Student Coffee House
  • 1:00-4:00 Classic Car Show (weather permitting)
  • 1:30-3:30 Kelvin Football Classic – It will be a fun, touch football game between
    former alumni players, coaches and current team players. We will also have
    Gerry James (former CFL/NHL player and Kelvin graduate) doing a book

6:00 pm – 1:00 am – Gala Dinner – Winnipeg Convention Centre

  • Dress: Cocktail
  • Hosted by: Roger Currie – Talk of the Town, Regina SK and Fiona Odlum Air 680 chopper traffic
  • Seating: Decade seating will be identified (Tickets and tables are colour coded, See diagrams at entrances to dinner.)
  • Tickets: colour coded by decade. You will receive 2 tickets for the dinner, 1 ticket will be presented by you on admission. Place the 2nd tent card (the folded over card) on the place setting you have chosen.



Dinner Menu

  • Bibb, Oak Leaf and Radicchio Lettuces, Marinated Artichokes and Balsamic Basil Vinaigrette;
  • Roast Marinated Filet of Beef with Madeira Sauce;
  • Chocolate Supreme Cheesecake;
  • Bakery Basket with Lavash, Bread Sticks, Focaccia Bread and Dinner Rolls and Butter;
  • Freshly Brewed Coffee and Decaffeinated Coffee with Traditional and Herbal Teas.

Sunday May 27

10:00 am – 1:00 pm – School closed;  A day to spend with your family and friends reviewing what a great time you had at the Kelvin 100 Reunion!

No tickets will be mailed out, all will be available for pick-up at Kelvin High School on the Friday May 25, or Saturday May 26, during the day. If you are unable to pick-up your registration package at these times, please contact


Refund & Cancellation Policy

In some cases, it will be necessary for people who have registered to change their plans. If they have paid but are now unable to attend, a refund will be issued. Note: Refund requests must be confirmed by e-mail or phone by April 30, 2012. You must have confirmation by the Reunion Committee by April 30, 2012.

**Any funds made from the event will be placed in a designated endowment fund of the Winnipeg Foundation for Kelvin High School. All other events are open and free of charge.
